The Wind River Range Trip
Sept 2nd to 10th/2006
The Wind River range is a 100
miles long and 25 miles wide
Sub-Mountain Range from the
Rocky Mt Range. It is located 1 1/2
hour south East from Jackson ,Wyo.
Although We hiked 60 miles in 4
days...We only explored 15% to
20% of all the available hiking area
in the Range.
Temperatures ranged from 70
degrees by day to about 45 by
night. And the Wind was never a
factor but for that night at the Big
Sandy lake.
We had a simple plan. Hike 45 miles on the North side of the range; From the Green River lakes to Ticob
Basin and from there exit out at Elkhart Park. After a night of R&R at the Big Sandy Lodge We will do a
20 miles over night hike to the famous "CIRCLE OF TOWERS" in the South end of the Range.

Cirque of Towers & Jackass Pass
Even the name entices one to explore it’s realm. The Cirque lives up to it’s name with jagged granite spires and
peaks hidden deep in the Rockies of Wyoming’s Wind River Range. As you arrive in the Cirque, climbers and
hikers are awed by the sheer vertical walls and pointed towers which give the area its name.
