Hiking to 8,400 feet to set
camp and get in position to
summit the Mountain early(
very early) the next morning
The wind picked up high in the
Mountain with gust up to 40 miles per
hour. It took our body heat away. It
was cold! Marie and Tito put on their
Down Parkas

the top of Palmer ski-lift
6AM the First Rope time reach the Hogsback Ridge in good time
to head up for the Summit. Awesome view from the Ridge
Our two rope teams started late.
The Wind Delayed our departure

Pearly gate. The gate to the Summit from the
south side. The ice fall inside the gates were
hard and blue...a little bit of Ice climbing was
needed. Stefan,Mike and Marie wait for the
anchor to be set.

the distance
From the summit
of Hood We
could see our
next two
mountains; Mt
Saint Helen(far
left) and Mount
Adams (far
right) with
Mount Rainier in
the Middle.
A great climb on what become a nice weather day. The great
feeling was only shadowed by the fact that our second rope team
was not able to reach the Summit due to time constriction. They
had to turn around at the Hogsback ridge.
We reached the Summit a little before
8:30AM...The winds were gone,the sun
was up and the Summit was ours to be
shared with just three other climbers.
